Abstract : The patent relates to a modified 304 stainless steel having the following alloying elements: 18 to 20% chromium, 8 to 12% nickel, up to .08% carbon, up to 1% silicon, up to 1% manganese, up to 0.1% sulfur, up to .45% phosphorous. The steel may also contain from .3 to .6% copper and/or .3 to .6% molybedenum.
