Abstract : The patent application relates to a rotating spindle mounted on a bevel gear set at 45 degrees from the horizontal for rotation around a stationary gear. The spindle turns while rotating at the 45 degrees giving an automatic feed back and forth across the spindle of tape from a reel. The shape of the finished self-supporting ball of tape which is produced can be altered by changing the ratio of the gears. A series of guide pulleys, one of which is spring loaded, are positioned between the spindle and the reel of tape.
