Abstract : The patent application describes thermally stable poly(quinoxalinobisimidazonaphthaldimide) materials. They are prepared by the condensation of multifunctional aromatic carboxylic acids or derivatives thereof and tetraamino phenylated quinoxaline compounds. The high thermal stability of the polymers and their solubility in a variety of organic solvents renders them particularly suitable for use in high temperature applications such as in the fabrication of plastic composites and protective coatings.
