Abstract : An improved version of an airborne radiometer is described. Six flights over the Atlantic Ocean east of Trinidad were made with it during November 1959. Measurements of the radiative flux and cooling between 100 and 15,000 feet are presented. A heat budget is constructed for the sub-cloud layer. (Author)
