Abstract : The elements Rb, Ce, Ga, In, Th, Ge, Hf and Re are classified by the author as dispersed (diffused) metals. They are characterized by the fact that there are no natural deposits and theyARE FOUND IN VARIOUS DEGREES OF CONCENTRATION IN THE DEPOSITS OF OTHER RARE, FERROUS, AND NONFERROUS METALS, AND SOMETIMES IN NONMETALS. Many of them possess no natural minerals, or have only a small amount of them, and are found basically in a varied form of admixture in the minerals of related elements (isomorphism, entering the lattice in a form of solid solution). The basic physical and chemical characteristics of the dispersed metals are tabulated. The sources, methods of extraction (metallurgy), and industrial applications of these metals are discussed.
