Abstract : The stress fields caused by the following cases are analytically computed: (1) uniform slip in a cubical crystal at the interior of the aggregate; (2) non-uniform slip in a cubical crystal in the interior; (3) non-uniform slip in two closeby crystals in the interior, and (4) uniform slip in a crystal at the surface of the aggregate. In cases (1) and (4), the critical shear stress in the sliding crystal is uniform but the resolved shear stress is not. These 2 cases computed give stress fields caused by inclusions uniformly transformed in shape and give approximate stress fields for sliding workhardening crystals in an aggregate. In cases (2) and (3), the resolved shear stresses in the slipped region equal to its critical shear stresses and these 2 cases give the stress fields caused by sliding work-hardening crystals in the aggregate.
