Abstract : The investigation is concerned with the effects of inertia and thermodynamic coupling upon thermal stresses produced in a thin disk. Rotational symmetry is assumed, and the problem is treated within the two-dimensional theory of elasticity. A solution is obtained in the form of an infinite series, and comparison is made with solutions in which effects of inertia or thermodynamic coupling are neglected. For the problem considered, the effects of inertia and thermodynamic coupling are found to be negligible. (Author)
