Abstract : A method is described by which high speed stereophotography and commercial aerial topographic analysis techniques can be used to obtain engineering data in the explosive forming of metal parts, and to study the dynamics of the forming process. The instrumentation and techniques for this method are discussed in terms of an actual problem, the explosive free-forming of an aluminum plate. Test results are presented. (Author)
