Abstract : The advent of the X-15, Dyna-Soar, and other vehicles operating at very high altitudes require increased familiarity with winds above the normal radiosonde levels. A number of articles have already been published on the subject of high-level circulation patterns. The present report makes use of the available rocketsonde data to determine the accuracy of climatological and persistence forecasts at 150,000 feet. (Author)
