Abstract : The theory of the electrokinetic diffusion effect of a droplet arising during motion of its surface is given. From calculations made on not excessively large droplets, the fall of which is characterized by Reynolds numbers less than unity, it has been shown that this effect may lead to electrical fields of an intensity of 100 v/cm. The above effect must be taken into account when dealing with ordinary fractions of electrically neutral or close to electrically neutral droplets. The electrokinetic diffusion effect presents a unique possibility for the study of extremely weak adsorption. (Author)
