Abstract : Scientists have developed a high-frequency method for investigation heat transfer in a fluidized bed with internal heat sources. In this method, the continual supply of heat in a mass of particles is assured by eddy currents when an apparatus with a fluidized bed is introduced into a h-f magnetic field. Control of the amount of heat supplied by the eddy currents depends on the frequency and the strength of the magnetic field, the size of the particles, and the electromagnetic properties of the particles. To change the magnetic field strength various inductors must be used and the operational regime of the h-f generator must be changed. For each current frequency there is an optimum particle size for which the power generated per unit volume has maximum value. (Author)
