Abstract : Factors affecting the scattering of radio waves by sonic beams are discussed from the point of view of existing theory. A review of sonic sources is presented along with the detailed characteristics of the sonic generators investigated during the course of field experimentation. The millimeter wave communications equipment used as the electromagnetic source is also briefly described. Field experiments performed over an open range of 154 feet yielded no positive results in indicating that scattering of radio waves can be effected by means of sonic energy. These results cannot be considered absolutely definitive in the light of limitations imposed on the experiment by both the sonic and radio equipment. (Author)
