Abstract : Chlorpromazine can have a hypothermic or hyperthermic effect on the body temperature response of mice, depending upon the ambient temperature. The critical ambient temperature has been calculated to be approximately 33 C using two milligrams per kilogram of chlorpromazine in mice. The ambient temperature is an important factor that can bias the effect of drugs that influence body temperature and should be weighed accordingly when data are analyzed. The influence of other factors such as radiation, relative humidity and air motion has been discussed. ( uthor)
