Abstract : The calculation of space-charge weighting functions for a finite diameter electron beam are presented for both the axial and radial spacecharge forces. New experimental results on variable-pitch helix traveling-wave tubes are presented and maximum efficiency figures of 45 percent are indicated. Results on X-band elliptic cavity couplers indicate that low VSWR and insertion loss can be achieved over very wide bandwidths both with coaxial lines and with waveguide coupling. Initial computer results on the potential distribution in a two-dimensional diode are presented and correlated with one-dimensional results. An expression for the electric field distribution in a beam-plasma interaction is presented which removes an earlier restriction to a constant relaxation time. (Author)
