Abstract : Human teeth, removed surgically, were examined for small proximal carious lesions. Applicable roentgenographs, extracted from previous completed mouth roentgenographic examinations, were procured and compared visually with thin sections cut through the lesion. The report displays Kodacolor prints of the original x-ray films and 2x, 4x, and 16x views of the sections removed from the teeth through the carious area. The photographs are displayed side by side for the examination of the reader. Although not determinable with certainty from examination of the photographs, due to poor quality control in printing procedures, good correlation was found between the lesion images on roentgenographs and the sawed sections. A supplement, pertaining to the use of certain lapidary equipment in producing ground materials, has been included. (Author)
