Abstract : The feasibility of a chemical spray process for its application to the fabrication of thin film photovoltaic converters using either CdS or CdSe as the semiconducting layer is being investigated. Evaluation of the semiconducting layer (CdS) and the initial work in fabricating a photovoltaic converter utilizing a barrier formed at the interface between a thin (.5 micron) film of CdS and a thin film (.05 micron) of Cu9-xS5(digenite) is reported.
