Abstract : Observations and conclusions are briefly reported on: (1) effects of adsorbed polar molecules on the mechanical and dissolution behavior of ionic crystals, (rebinder-effect, etch-tunneling phenomenon, anomalous solution and etching phenomenon, etc.); (2) the surface sensitive behavior of ionic crystals; and (3) embrittlementterials, Molecules, Adsorption, Lithium compounds, Fluorides ingle crystals. Identifiers: Etching, Crystal dislocation. Observations and conclusions are briefly reported on: (1) effects of adsorbed polar molecules on the mechanical and dissolution behavior of ionic crystals, (rebinder-effect, etch-tunneling phenomenon, anomalous solution and etching phenomenon, etc.); (2) the surface sensitive behavior of ionic crystals; and (3) embrittlement by liquid-metals.
