Abstract : The dynamic nonlinearities, and the dynamic deformation of the homogeneous magneto-ionic medium is studied. A complete second order nonlinear magneto-ionic theory has been developed and is presented with all relevant field, velocity, differential space charge density and polarization expressions. For ionospheric application this theory is adequate under most conditions. Even for the most powerful radio transmitters on the ground, do the second order non-linear relations hold. This is not so in technical plasma devices. However, the second order nonlinear theory should be very useful as a tool in studying the further build-up of non-linearities in such devices, since it contains all important non-linear resonances.
