Abstract : All components for the K-band generator using a stop-band filter were finished. The theory of motion of magnetization in transient magnetic fields, extended to include large pulsing angles, was essentially solved. Further experiments with the pulsed generator using crystalline anisotropy fields continued to give negative results. A theoretical study was made of third-order spin wave instabilities in ferrites. Experiments were conducted on two harmonic spin wave suppression schemes; cancellation of the ellipticity of the uniform precession mode, and parallel depumping by second harmonic fields. Theoretical work was also performed on electromagnetic shock wave formation and refinement work was continued on the pulsed field apparatus for pulses in the 50 to 100 kilogauss range. (Author)
