Abstract : Extensive tests on model structural elements simulating larger scale reinforced conc ete shear walls and columns have been performed. These models were made of wire reinforced sandcement mortar. Comparisons of the behavior and failure conditions of the model elements to the larger scale elements which had been tested both statically and dynamically were made. It is concluded that it is possible and relatively easy to fabricate such elements - by the wire reinforced-sand cement mortar technique and that these elements will behave in a similar manner to prototype structural elements over the complete range of behavior to failure.
