Abstract : Each molecule traversing a reactor of very low pressure shows a trajectory composed of rectilinear segments disordered and separated by collisions with the inert or reactive inner surfaces. After developing the mathematical analysis of this phenomenon, it is applied to different geometrical forms of reactors described previously. The calculation of an expression of the total yield of the reactor as a function of the elementary yield of collisions is followed; then one calculates the average number of collisions with the reactive surface, undergone by each molecule, comparing it to the number of collisions it undergoes with other molecules in the gaseous stage while pressure is not infinitely low. The examination of the usefulness of the gross experimental results, for the elucidation of the reactive mechanics in detail and especially the determination of the activating energies of the adsorption and desorption of molecules on the reactive surface is also presented.
