Abstract : Using the dy amic e pa sion of a ring, the uniform elongatio to failure a igh rates of train as been measured for seven materials, by mea uring the c ge in grid pacing on one surface of fractured ring . Values obtaine using a mean initial strain rate of the order of 1000 per second re compared to t e v lues obtained on specim ns pulled to fracture at a mean strain rate of .001 per econ .
