Abstract : A prototype of a neutron-gamma ray flight instrument for consti uent analysis of remote bodies in space (e.g., the surface of the moon) was developed and assembled to permit optimization studies and fi ld tests. The prototype was not intended to fully meet the problems of space environment and a particular mission. The first performance test in the laboratory indicated the device will work satisfactorily.
