Abstract : The NAVIER Stokes equations are used to arrive at the laminar viscous torque exerted by a liquid on the walls of a liquidfilled spinning shell in flight. The equation of motion for the axial spin of the liquidfilled shell is then derived and solved. The result does not agree with the experimental observations of spin decay, and the possible causes for disagreement are discussed. (Author)
