Abstract : Investigation was continued of high-speed unsteady flow including an extension of the shockexpansion method and its application to wing and body oscillations at large amplitude; the unsteady Newtonian theory of Hayes and Probstein (Hypersonic Flow Theory, Academic Press, N. Y. and London, 1959), with centrifugal and Coriolis effects; and time-dependent airloads as influenced by rapid changes in the ambient environment. Although the motion of two-dimensional airfoils is emphasized, the difficulties are discussed which arise when one attempts to analyze three-dimensional cases. (Author)
