Abstract : This project is concerned with determining whether a system's performance conforms to its design objectives from consideration of failure data, including human-initiated malfunctions collected during development testing. In addition, the usefulness of this data for predicting the system's reliability was examined. The report discusses the interaction of human factors activities with other developmental testing activities. The relationship of the humaninitiated malfunction to the reliability growth in development is examined. A method for monitoring performance and reliability during development is presented as an aid to determining whether or not a system conforms to its design objectives. (Author)
