Abstract : Estimates of the standard errors of observed and time-extrapolated data are made for the standard pressure levels from 700 mb through 25 mb. Error estimates are used to establish the relative importance of height and wind data in synoptic analysis and the relative importance of persistence data compared to observed values. (Author)
