Abstract : Air stream cooling of disks is being adopted for the gas turbines which are being produced. Therefore a number of investigations were made of the efficiency of this type of cooling. In this method of cooling, the air moves in separate dispersed streams onto the rim of the disk from both sides, while in the case of a double-crowned disk, the air also flows onto the rim between the crowns. Such a method of cooling is selected for the structural simplicity of its implementation for a sufficiently high efficiency. The tests showed a satisfactory operation of such cooling systems. At a starting gas temperature of tg = 700 C and at a relative flow of air for cooling the rotor G = 1.5% the maximum temperature of the rotor did not exceed 560 C and that of the outside shell of the case 350 C.
