Abstract : The goal of Project Star Dust is to construct a model of world wide fallout behavior from hich predictions can be made of atmospheric burdens, ground burdens and the biologic l doses resulting from all kinds of releases of radioactivity placed in the atmosphere as a result of military use of atomic energy. To that end, S ar Dust has been conceived as a two-faceted project. One facet consists of radiochemical and particle analyses of stratospheric air filter samples collected by U-2 aircraft. al) model of atmospheric processes governing the distribution of world wi e fallout from injections of radioactive material. The two facets are not independent of e ch other, however. The results of the radiochemical and particle analyses will be used, in conjunction with data obtained in the High Altitude Sampling Program, to provide a basis for stablishing the model.
