Abstract : The investigation being carried out covers two different areas; the design of VLF antennas for shipboard use and the study of coherent light sources in the visible range. The first investigation aims at studying the properties of ferrite-loaded antennas and at designing a radiating structure having suitable efficiency and dimensions; the second investigation aims at studying the generation of coherent light beams at wavelengths shorter than 6300 Angstroms.
