Abstract : Three propellant/liner systems developed under a previous Rocketdyne independent research program are being investigated for possible use in missile systems requiring extreme thermal stability characteristics (high Mach dash regime's). Load endurance (constant load) tests over an extreme temperature range is reported on two of the propellant systems, and base line data has been obtained on the third. Grain stress analyses are reported on four basis designs chosen as motor demonstration candidates; trade-off studies are presently underway comparing design requirements to measured mechanical properties and thermal stability performance. Tentative grain designs are presented.
