Abstract : This report reviews procedures employed in allocation of HF and VHF frequencies by the Republic of Vietnam, The Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces, U.S., and other Free World Forces early in 1966. A survey of the number, types, and general characteristics of communications equipment issued to the Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces was conducted and a sampling of the HF band, together with observations of the users of the VHF band, was recorded in order to determine the effectiveness of the frequency allocation plan. Recommendations to improve tactical communications in Vietnam are made. (Author)
