Abstract : Four samples of a light metal hydride produced by bench-scale continuous process could not be processed in LPC-1032B formulations. A higher density material form was found to be more difficult to passivate and subject to attrition with loss of passivation if processed in a high shear mixer. Inadequate passivation occurred (pyrolytic material) when laboratory methods were scaled up to pilot plant. Scale-up effects are under investigation in cooperation with Ethyl Corporation. An advanced double-base propellant composition is under investigation in an effort to obtain high specific impulse efficiences with high fuel loadings. Adequate cures of 1 TVOPA/1 PBEP to 3 TVOPA/1 PBEP systems can be obtained with the use of trifunctional curing agents. (Author)
