Abstract : Today's jet engine fuels do not have sufficiently high thermostability. At temperatures above 100, which develop when aircraft operate at supersonic speeds, these fuels form insoluble deposits which precipitate on the filters and components of the fuel regulating apparatus, thus lowering engine reliability. The problems of increasing the thermostability of fuels during use are extremely urgent. In this article certain results of investigations reveal a number of factors influencing the thermostability of jet engine fuel. (Author)
