Abstract : Sprague-Dawley descended rats were repeatedly exposed to oxygen at high pressure. Chronic oxygen toxicity was obtained in one group of animals while in two other groups no permanent paralysis was obtained. It is suggested that a third factotor, pep perhaps environmental, may have a role in predisposing rats to the development of the chronic signs of oxygen toxicity. The relationship of chronic to acute signs is discussed. (Author)
