Abstract : Work continued on the airborne concealed munition detector. A brief period was spent with the prototype receiver in attempting to establish broad limits on the range of the breadboard system. Having established reasonable range figures for the equipment as it is on the bench, the electronic portions were then positioned within the transmitting coil tube. While it was pos sible to operate the system when so assembled, it became apparent that the difficulties to be experienced when operating the very low level receiver within the intense transmitting field were somewhat greater than previously estimated. As the range figures (measurable in tens of feet) were encouraging, a beginning has been made on the final breadboard bird with which actual flying tests can be conducted. (Author)
