Abstract : The local heat flux to a sharp edged flat plate was measured over the range 32.8 < Re sub x < 4486 and 5.51 < M < 5.71. The stagnation temperature was varied from approximately 77 F to 2000 F to give wall to stagnation temperature ratios of from 0.501 to 0.121. The experimental data were compared to the theoretical strong interaction predictions and found to be approximately 65% higher. (Author)
