Abstract : An ultrasonic attenuation method was developed to non-destructively determine void content in orthogonal filament wound panels. Attenuation was correlated with physical properties to establish quality control criteria. Mathematical relationships between attenuation, interlaminar shear strength and void content were determined. (Author)
