Abstract : The megacycle, pulse-echo internal friction method has been used to measure carbon and nitrogen Snoek damping peaks in alpha-iron in the temperature range 300 to 400 C. The diffusion coefficient of nitrogen at 326 C so determined was in good agreement with the coefficient determined by a bulk desorption method. (Author)
