Abstract : Topographic profiles, sediment and water samples, and climatic data have been collected in a monthly schedule at fifteen stations distributed along the western Florida Panhandle coast during 1962. These observations and associated wave measurements have been studied to determine the magnitude of the beach variations associated with different energy ranges of wave attack. Preliminary conclusions are that the patterns show a direct relation between change in beach profile versus increasing wave energy and further, that a regional climatic-oceanographic boundary can be defined on the basis of beach and wave data.
