Abstract : A brief review of previous experiments with radio-frequency and microwave exposure of proteins is presented. Experiments with alphaamylase at fixed frequency, varying the temperature, at fixed temperature, varying the frequency in steps, and at fixed temperature, varying the frequency continuously with automatic analysis and recording are described. It appears that this enzyme can be deactivated by r.f. energy and that both temperature and frequency are important variables. The bandwidth of these effects appears to be extremely narrow. (Author)
