Abstract : In rats exposed to 800 r of whole-body Xirradiation, the clearing factor lipase (CFL) activity of plasma remained elevated for about 7 days, compared to that of pair-fed controls. Irradiation of the liver region only failed to have a radioprotective effect. An elevated, heparin-induced plasma CFL activity during the irradiation or throughout the first 5 days postijradiation was associated with an increased 30-day mortality. (Author)
