Abstract : Measurements of the integrated cross sections and angular distributions of the C12(C12, alpha) Ne20 reactions for alpha particles leaving Ne20 in the ground state and first excited state, are averaged over the energy interval of 10.15 to 12.8 MeV (in the center-of-mass frame) and compared with calculations based on the statistical theory of nuclear reactions. The calculations employ optical-model transmission functions of the correct energy for each of the channels open to the compound nucleus. (Author)
