Abstract : A series of explosive charges were dropped from an aircraft at 100 mile intervals along an arc at a constant distance from Bermuda, where the received signals were recorded. Although some profound differences between shot signatures existed, the complex envelope could be explained by ray diagram computations using a single velocity profile for the entire series. (Author)
