Abstract : The aluminum oxide crystal, Al2O3, doped with a small amount of chromium, which is called ruby, is widely used in solid state physics research and applications. The experimental work described in this thesis is concerned with the precise determination of three important paramagnetic resonance parameters of the ruby crystal at room temperature. These are two spectroscopic splitting factors and a crystal field splitting (D) of the chromium ion energy levels. (Author)
