Abstract : For every orthonornal matrix X there exists a skewsymmetric matrix N such that X = (IN)/(I+N), provided that 1/(I+N) exists. A matrix K, similar to N, can be defined for biorthonormal matrices U and V such that U = (IK)/(I+K), provided that 1/(I+K) exists. Numerical methods are presented for examination of the properties of K. The particular property anticipated for K, that it exhibit n(n1) basic parameters inherent in biorthonormal matrices, is not apparent in the numerical examples derived. (Author)
