Abstract : A synchronized oscillator method has been devised for interpolating phase angles between the peaks of a nonsinusoidal input signal. Tests show that the oscillator will synchronize with input frequencies between 5 and 60 cps and will follow a step frequency change of 2 cps without loss of synchronism. The feedback loop is analyzed to show the limitations of gain and steady state error. The experimental model is found to have a maximum steady state phase error of six degrees when operating over the range from 10 to 20 cps. A method for reducing this error is suggested. (Author)
