Abstract : The hardening behavior of 13% Cr steels with Mo and Co additions is investigated in the temperature range of 400-700 C, by hardness measurements, transmission electron microscopy and electron diffraction, X-ray diffraction, and electron microprobe analysis. The effect of Co and Mo on the hardness after aging is shown. Under conditions approaching equilibrium, the presence of a Sigma type phase is demonstrated, preceded by a fine spherical precipitate uniformly dispersed in the matrix. It is assumed that cobalt is in relation with this precipitation. (Author)
