Abstract : This report is an effort to broaden the understanding of the cleanup of gases in gas-filled electronic devices, with equal emphasis being placed on the measurement of the kinetics of the process and the determination, using infrared spectroscopy, of the structure of molecular species formed by the gas-solid interaction, so that a mechanism that is both scientifically and technologically useful may be developed.
