Abstract : This program has as its goal the development of video and superheterodyne detection techniques which are appropriate for the millimeter and submillimeter range of the spectrum. A theoretical analysis of a loop detector tunnel diode mounted in a ground plane is presented. The resistive component of the load impedance is calculated. Current problems in the fabrication of the tunnel diodes are discussed. (Author)
